My name is Curtis
and I’m designer, builder & noise maker

A fascination with mid 20th century industrial, test, computing, and medical equipment informs my creative processes. I derive inspiration from the hand crafted instruments of the analog era, while maintaining a healthy disinterest in replicating the past.
Unrestrained nostalgia is poison.
The erosion of structures and putting to rest the influence of those long dead. Walking among rusting husks of broken machinery while plants consume the tailings of civilization. Giant bugs, slowly devouring. These are some of the figments of imagery I favor in my (sonic) work. Ultimately, I am building objects in support of that endeavor.
My builds are not engineered to be clean. We are unclean.

With regard to actual processes, I resist the use of “’A.I.’”, LLMs, and automation to every extent I can manage.
I do utilize a computer.
I prefer the utilization of non-specialized components on the semi-conductor front. Being able to repair stuff that is a hundred years old is a joy that I will deny to noone.
